White based highlight, but I'm brown skinned!

Ever watched someone else apply a beautiful highlighter and you ran out to cop it; and it didn't work the same on you? Well, let me pass along this gem-highlighters are multipurpose. White based highlighters just appear too ashy on my skin tone. So how can you make it work?

I recommend:

1. Use different application techniques , i.e fingers vs BRUSHES

2. Use a small amount and build to desired effect.

3. Be strategic in your placement
