I bet my Artist is better than yours! Sketchbooks by REIQ

Sooooo.... I don't know if you guys know, but I have a pretty awesome little following on Instagram and I run across a ton of cool ass, phenomenal artist. But one in particular, was a serious jaw-dropper of a sequential artist. And that guy is Mr. Reinaldo Quintero. But better known as REIQ.

I've been liking and saving his work for months now and didn't know that we were following each other on Instagram. I felt like the DUMBEST FANGIRL EVER! Like, who does that?! I hadn't done any research into who he was or how long he had been doing art. But some how, I found myself on his Etsy account. Oh yeah, after I saw that he had a SECOND Sketchbook coming out on one of his recent IG post. I rushed my ass right over to the link in his bio there, and found the Etsy. I was soooooo late to the party you guys! This sketching GOD of a Man has been making waves for sometime now; at every Comic Conventions and Fan Days known to Geeks. I just really felt like I'd been under a colorless, dimensionless rock. And to make things worst, this is his 2nd Sketchbook.

So after all of this self-loathing. I reached out to REIQ and told him that I think he is amazing and I wanted to purchase the books and write a review of them, to inform all the other under-informed lovers of his art. And he was down for it.

Let me inform you guys on who he is, per his Biography:

Reinaldo Quintero is a Venezuelan artist and one of the most promising talents from Latin America, His work has been reviewed in many magazines and art communities around the world like Corel Painter Magazine and Digital Artist.

His fresh and ever changing style raging from anime, comics to Animation makes him an adventurous artist with a wide set of skill that makes his work appealing.

Reinaldo has worked with different clients and private commissions which currently includes character designs for tabletop games and promotional illustrations for products and games.

Graduated as Graphic designer Reinaldo decided that he will pursuit his dream of being part of the animation industry and this passion of learning goes beyond skills and it has become his life style, the pursuit of perfection and professionalism.

Regardless of all adversity he believes theres a road of excellency in his craftmanship.

So, I purchased the books a soon as humanly possible.

(Deep breath) First off, I received my package in record time, maybe 5 days at the most. Then I felt the beautiful heaviness of the wonders inside, ready to be exposed.

Let me tell you, I had no . freakin . idea!

His minds eye sees colors like no other artist I've seen before. And he has a complex understanding of how those colors can marry together to invoke a feeling in the viewer. Its a static image with so much movement and excitement.

I could look at his original and fan art characters all day and forever. And a majority of his re-imagined characters look better than their original predecessors!

And you can feel and see that same emotion exudes from his black and white sketches.
